Welcome
Greetings! My name is Anna Winkowski, a Certified RN Case Manager currently working as a consultant for Cerner, a company that offers health information technology solutions, services, devices and hardware. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Aurora University in 1992, Master of Health Services Administration Degree from National-Louis University in 2007 and a Master of Science in Medical Informatics Degree from Northwestern University in 2010.
I worked as a Medical-Surgical-Telemetry Nurse at a hospital in Chicago up until 1999, when I made the switch to managed care as a Utilization Review Nurse, then as a Case Manager and eventually as a Manager for Outpatient Care Management. The emergence of Electronic Medical Records has significantly changed the landscape of healthcare delivery. Unfortunately with technology comes the disconnect between clinicians and IT. When I started my website, it was my fervent hope that the knowledge I have acquired from my graduate programs would help me become a conduit between clinicians and IT resulting in better communication and improved delivery of healthcare services. I took a scenic route to get to where I am today but as a consultant, I assess my client's current state through interviews, assessments and performance monitoring tools to help determine their readiness for adopting technologies that help improve the care delivery for highly complex, high profile or multi-site client programs. I also work with clients to assess their ability to meet value metrics and identify roadblocks that are preventing them from achieving success.
This website provides details of my educational and professional background. I hope you will find this site insightful. Thank you for visiting my website and I look forward to getting a feedback from you!
